Job summary

Senior Network Engineer
Job Locations

Thornton, CO, USA; Atlanta, GA, USA; Addison, TX, USA; Reston, VA, USA.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience with network routing protocols, design and troubleshooting, with network equipment providers.
  • Experience with planning and designing networks (e.g., multiple sites, multiple products, etc.).
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in one or more programming languages (Python, Go, or C++) to drive automation roadmaps and automate complex workflows.
  • Experience with managing scaled capacity augment/migration projects in a computer networking environment, including data center or colocation environments.
  • Experience with network system design, network architecture and technology and network infrastructure.
  • Experience with forecasting, planning and design tools, workflow automation tooling and improvement.
  • Experience with defining system or process requirements, building, integrating, or delivering large-scale layer 1, layer 2 or layer 3 network systems.
  • Excellent problem solving, cost-benefit analysis, and data analysis skills.

Additionally, you will partner with software teams to guide the software automation roadmap, helping to improve quality and reduce cycle time for network planning and design.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $150000 - $218000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
  • Produce plans and designs to meet network infrastructure and capacity plans for the global production network in line with established standards and product service level objectives (SLO), and help establish a proper balance of capital expenditures (CapEx) and operational expenditures (OpEx).
  • Communicate with internal business partners to collect drivers and deadlines for delivering network capacity.
  • Design solutions for high-bandwidth network delivery, creating project plans that identify resource needs and key paths, while incorporating New Product Introduction (NPI) solutions and ensuring toolset and process readiness.
  • Contribute to the automation roadmap to reduce cycle time and improve quality and consistency.
  • Evolve business processes governing the design generation lifecycle (including input gathering, validation, publication, and handoff), specifically defining the governing policies.
