Job summary

University of Georgia's Enterprise Information Technology Services seeks a Network Administrator to design, implement, and support enterprise network services across 80K+ nodes on the Athens campus and extended sites.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 5 years of professional experience, and hands-on work with DHCP/IPAM/DNS, firewalls, VPNs, and detailed technical documentation. It is a full-time, on-site position with potential after-hours work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent and 5 years of professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, recommend, design, and maintain network systems and applications that provide mission critical central services.
• Implement, manage and provide operational support for enterprise network services.
• Manage and support operation of enterprise firewall services.
• Implement and manage enterprise Intrusion Prevention/Detection systems.
• Perform long-range capacity planning to determine resources needed to support projected volume and types of solutions.
• Perform initial setup, software installation, testing, and security hardening of network and security systems.
• Maintain software, including testing, evaluation and installation of new versions or modifications to systems.
• Work with other departments to implement/support critical network services.
• Patch network and security systems and applications; monitor production systems; schedule backups; and recovery operations.
