Job summary

World Wide Technology is seeking a Network Engineer III for a DoD Enterprise Zero Trust program in the Washington, DC area. You will support installation, migration, and configuration across multiple locations, focusing on secure, scalable network design.

You will configure network hardware and software, document changes, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with security, systems, and application teams to meet DoD requirements.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years in network security or network engineering with Zero Trust focus.
• Experience designing, implementing, and managing LAN/WAN and SD-WAN networks.
• Knowledge of zero trust security best practices, firewalls and segmentation.
• Strong routing, switching, multicast and QoS knowledge.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with SIEM log forwarding and event correlation.
• Public cloud networking in AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain a high-distribution network aligned to zero-trust principles.
• Design and implement SD-WAN across dozens of sites globally.
• Configure, install, and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and related software.
• Plan and document network upgrades, expansions, and optimizations.
• Develop protocol compatibility standards and SOPs.
• Maintain comprehensive network documentation and logs.
• Diagnose and resolve complex network issues related to performance and security.
• Develop disaster recovery plans for network resilience.
• Mentor junior network engineers and collaborate with IT teams.
