Job summary

7Seventy Recruiting is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, deploy, and secure high-availability networks for government and commercial environments across on-prem, colocation, and cloud.

You will own routing and switching architecture, manage peering, implement automation, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with customer technical contacts.

Strong focus on BGP/OSPF, IPv4/IPv6, VPNs, security, and compliance in complex enterprise networks.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional network engineering experience in production environments.
• Experience designing, operating, securing, and troubleshooting highly available networks.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while communicating clearly.
• US work authorization without sponsorship and ability to pass a background check.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and after-hours maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise and service-provider networks across on-prem, colocation, and cloud environments.
• Configure and operate BGP, OSPF, and other dynamic routing protocols including route policy and filtering.
• Manage upstream transit, peering, internet exchange, and routing relationships.
• Plan IPv4/IPv6 addressing, dual-stack deployments, and related resources.
• Implement network security with segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
• Deploy monitoring, alerting, flow analysis, and observability systems.
• Automate network configuration and deployment with Python, Bash, Go, Ansible, Terraform.
• Lead troubleshooting and incident response with root-cause analysis.
• Document runbooks, diagrams, change records, and compliance evidence.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with customer technical contacts.
