Our client is seeking a Senior Network Engineer/ Infrastructure Engineer to architect, deploy, and optimize complex on-premises infrastructure environments that support mission‑critical operations. This is a highly visible technical leadership role for an engineer who thrives on solving complex challenges, driving automation, and delivering reliable, scalable network and infrastructure solutions.

As a key member of our engineering team, you will lead the design and lifecycle management of multi‑vendor networks, Linux‑based infrastructure, and automation initiatives while serving as a trusted technical expert across the organization. You will have the opportunity to influence architecture decisions, own projects from concept through implementation, and modernize infrastructure through automation and innovation.
Role:
Network Architecture & Engineering
- Design, implement, and optimize enterprise datacenter and remote‑site network architectures with a focus on modern, software‑defined networking (SDN) principles.
- Deploy, configure, and manage multi‑vendor network environments, including Cisco, Arista, VyOS, and related platforms.
- Build and maintain advanced routing environments leveraging BGP, MPLS, VPNs, and Linux‑based routing solutions.
- Design and support WAN and SD‑WAN architectures that deliver secure, high‑performance connectivity across distributed environments.
- Lead infrastructure deployments in remote datacenters, ensuring successful implementation, testing, validation, and documentation.
- Administer and support Linux‑based systems that underpin network and infrastructure services.
- Design, implement, and maintain network security controls, including firewalls, ACLs, and secure routing frameworks.
- Manage infrastructure lifecycle activities, including upgrades, patching, performance optimization, and capacity planning.
- Monitor infrastructure health and drive continuous improvements in reliability, resiliency, and operational efficiency.
Automation & Operational Excellence
- Champion infrastructure automation initiatives using Ansible, AWX, and configuration management tools.
- Develop repeatable, scalable deployment and management processes that reduce operational overhead and improve consistency.
- Integrate monitoring, logging, and observability platforms such as OpenSearch and Elastic to enhance visibility across the environment.
- Maintain comprehensive network documentation, architecture diagrams, and inventory records using NetBox or similar platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure in on‑premises and datacenter environments.
- Advanced expertise with Cisco, Arista, VyOS, and other enterprise networking platforms.
- Deep knowledge of routing technologies, including BGP, with experience supporting MPLS environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of software‑defined networking (SDN) concepts and Linux‑based routing architectures.
- Advanced Linux systems administration experience.
- Proven experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management technologies, with Ansible strongly preferred.
- Hands‑on experience implementing firewalls, ACLs, and network security controls.
- Demonstrated success designing and deploying complex, large‑scale infrastructure solutions.
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects and drive initiatives to completion.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as Proxmox.
- Expertise with OpenSearch, Elastic Stack, or similar observability and analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with PacketFence, Fluentd, Oxidized, and related infrastructure management tools.
- Experience with AWX (Ansible Tower) and enterprise automation frameworks.
- Background supporting highly customized, locally hosted infrastructure environments.
- Experience integrating networking, systems, security, and application technologies to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
