Job description

A leading technology solutions provider specializing in enterprise networking and cloud infrastructure is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to take ownership of complex network environments, driving strategic infrastructure improvements and security enhancements.

Role Overview

This role offers an opportunity to lead the design, deployment, and support of scalable, resilient network systems across multiple sites and cloud platforms, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability for business-critical operations in a remote, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and architect enterprise-grade network solutions, including routing, switching, SD-WAN, firewalls, VPN, Quality of Service (QoS), and zero-trust segmentation, ensuring robust security and high availability.
  • Lead network infrastructure projects from requirements gathering and technology evaluation to solution implementation and deployment.
  • Develop, test, and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans for network components.
  • Perform proactive network maintenance such as firmware updates, patches, configuration tuning, and health monitoring, utilizing enterprise network management tools.
  • Manage vulnerability assessments, security advisories, and vendor notifications related to network hardware and software, mitigating risks.
  • Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configuration baselines, and topology maps, ensuring accurate and accessible records.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve network incidents and service requests, minimizing downtime and service impact.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to support strategic initiatives and technology standards.
  • Evaluate emerging networking technologies, translating their benefits into actionable recommendations for network modernization and security improvements.
  • Mentor and assist junior engineers, providing technical guidance and knowledge sharing within a high-performing team.
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical staff and senior management.
Core Qualifications & Requirements
  • 10+ years of hands‑on experience in enterprise network engineering, supporting multi‑site organizations and cloud integrations.
  • Proven expertise in routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), switching (VLANs, spanning tree, port channels), and network segmentation techniques.
  • Significant experience with Palo Alto Next‑Generation Firewalls, including policy management, troubleshooting, and Panorama for centralized control.
  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco ACI, Nexus 9300/9000 series configurations, fabric design, EPGs, and contract management.
  • Strong understanding of VPN architectures including DMVPN, IPSec, and secure remote access solutions.
  • Experience with SD-WAN deployment, configuration, and optimization, particularly Silver Peak/HPE Aruba EdgeConnect.
  • Familiarity with network automation tools such as Ansible, Python (Netmiko), and Terraform to streamline workflows.
  • Experience managing hybrid cloud networking environments (AWS, Azure) and integrating cloud and on-premise systems.
  • Strong documentation practices, ensuring networks are well‑documented and maintained.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to present complex technical concepts to executive and technical audiences.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Cisco certifications at the professional or expert level (CCNP, CCDP, CCIE).
  • Exposure to legal, financial, or professional services industries.
  • Experience with Citrix NetScaler ADC, wireless networking (Cisco Meraki), and network packet capture/visibility tools.
  • Familiarity with zero-trust security architectures, cloud security tools (Zscaler ZIA/ZPA), and WAF configurations.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds or PRTG.
