Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and automation of our global network infrastructure. You will tackle complex routing, data center fabrics, and automation challenges to ensure scalability, reliability, and security across Akamai's platform.

Ideal candidates have extensive IP network design experience, a strong background in BGP, and hands-on work with multi-vendor environments including Juniper, Cisco, and Arista.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Strong background in IP network design and scalable BGP routing architectures.
• Experience with data center fabrics and overlay technologies (VxLAN/EVPN).

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, and maintaining Akamai's global network infrastructure.
• Developing and maintaining core network configuration templates using Jinja2.
• Implementing new hardware platforms and network features within the automation framework.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define data models and functional requirements.
• Serving as a subject matter expert for complex network issues and deep-dive troubleshooting.
