Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and automate our global network infrastructure. You will drive architecture from concept to implementation, focusing on scalable routing, data center fabrics, and secure, reliable connectivity.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration, develop configuration templates with Python, Ansible, and Jinja2, and serve as a subject matter expert for complex network challenges across multi-vendor environments.

Qualifications

8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
Extensive experience in IP network design and scalable BGP routing architecture.
Understanding of Data Center architecture including CLOS Fabric and overlay tech (VXLAN/EVPN).
Experience managing multi-vendor environments (Juniper, Cisco, Arista) and routing platforms (BIRD, FRR, Cumulus).
Knowledge of end-to-end data flows and traffic patterns.
Develop and manage network configuration templates with automation tools (Python, Ansible, Jinja2).

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain our global network infrastructure.
Develop and maintain Akamai's core network configuration templates using Jinja2.
Implement new hardware platforms and features within the automation framework.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data models and requirements.
Serve as SME for complex network issues with deep-dive troubleshooting and analysis.
