This is a remote position.

• Work hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday through Friday)

Position Overview:

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing enterprise wired and wireless network infrastructure within a secure federal law enforcement environment. This role involves overseeing workflows, resolving technical issues, and managing junior staff, requiring expertise in network technologies and federal compliance standards such as FISMA High, NIST, and client-specific security policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive network assessments to evaluate efficiency, security, and compliance.
• Develop and present detailed assessment and security reports with actionable recommendations.
• Design, engineer, and implement secure network architectures aligned with standards, utilizing existing and emerging technologies.
• Create upgrade, patch, and testing plans, ensuring timely security updates.
• Evaluate and deploy network monitoring tools.
• Manage firewall, segmentation, and load balancing solutions to enhance security and performance.
• Oversee lifecycle management of network hardware and software.
• Provide troubleshooting support for complex network issues.
• Monitor network health and respond to support requests to ensure uptime.
• Coordinate equipment logistics across multiple locations.
• Maintain detailed network documentation.
• Support compliance efforts including vulnerability mitigation and incident response.
• Utilize analysis tools like Wireshark for troubleshooting.
• Participate in project management activities and utilize Agile tools.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure adherence to security policies.
• Communicate with stakeholders through reports and briefings.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
• 5-10 years of senior network engineering experience.
• Active CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, CCIE Enterprise Wireless, and CCDP certifications.
• Experience designing and managing secure enterprise networks.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, security, and management tools.
• Experience with federal cybersecurity compliance and lifecycle management.
• Proficiency with network analysis tools.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and documentation skills.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work remotely across multiple locations.
• Eligible for federal security clearances.
