Job summary

Gdh Consulting, Inc. in Warren, MI is seeking an experienced Senior Enterprise Network Engineer to respond to and resolve complex incidents across North America and globally.

You will support manufacturing, warehouse, and office locations, ensuring network stability and fast recovery from outages. The role requires proactive incident management, deep TCP/IP/OSI expertise, and hands-on troubleshooting across Layer 1–4, with a focus on Layer 2/3, BGP/WAN, and firewall concepts.

Qualifications

• CCNP certification and 6+ years of enterprise network engineering, operations, or incident response experience are required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve high-priority network incidents, including P1 incidents requiring urgent attention and service restoration
• Manage and escalate P2 and P3 incidents within the operations queue
• Troubleshoot network issues across OSI Layers 1–4, including hardware, connectivity and software defects
• Support Layer 2 technologies such as VLANs, trunking, spanning-tree, and wireless connectivity
• Diagnose Layer 3 routing issues including IP addressing, inter-VLAN routing, WAN, and BGP
• Analyze Layer 4 connectivity problems involving TCP, UDP, firewalls, and application reachability
• Support SD‑WAN and troubleshooting with Cisco vManage and related tools
• Investigate site outages and node failures to identify root causes and corrective actions
• Collaborate with service providers and internal teams to resolve WAN and circuit problems
• Participate in daily operations reviews, incident tracking, and on-call rotation

Role Summary

The individual will support manufacturing, warehouse, and office locations across North America and globally, ensuring network stability and quick recovery from outages. The role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting, incident management, and continuous technical development.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve high-priority network incidents, including P1 incidents requiring urgent attention and service restoration
• Manage and escape P2 and P3 incidents within the operational support queue
• Troubleshoot network issues across OSI Layers 1 through 4, including hardware failures, connectivity issues, and software defects
• Support and troubleshoot Layer 2 technologies such as VLANs, trunking, spanning‑tree operations, and wireless connectivity
• Diagnose Layer 3 routing issues, including IP addressing, inter‑VLAN routing, WAN connectivity, and BGP operations
• Analyze Layer 4 connectivity problems involving TCP, UDP, firewalls, and application reachability
• Support SD‑WAN and troubleshooting activities using Cisco vManage and related tools

Qualifications

• CCNP certification
• 6+ years of enterprise network engineering, network operations, or incident response experience
• Strong hands‑on troubleshooting experience in large enterprise environments
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals and the OSI model
• Knowledge of troubleshooting Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking issues, including VLANs, STP, BGP, and WAN technologies
• Experience supporting Cisco enterprise networking environments and hardware/software failures
• Ability to interpret logs, interface statistics, routing data, and telemetry
• Familiarity with network security concepts, including firewalls and zero‑trust environments
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Relevant education, training, certifications, or equivalent practical experience
• Availability to work on a hybrid schedule with at least 3 days onsite each week in Warren, MI, and participate in an on‑call rotation

Pay Range

Publishing Pay Range: $58.00 - $60.75 Hourly

This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
