Job summary

GDH is seeking a Data Center Technician to support large-scale deployment and daily operations in our Hillsboro facility. You will perform rack and stack tasks, cabling, asset labeling, and hardware validation, while following detailed runbooks and safety procedures.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in data centers, experience with enterprise servers, and the ability to read deployment docs. This on-site role requires physical capability and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands‑on data center experience including rack and stack activities.
• Strong understanding of server/network rack layouts and structured cabling.
• Experience with Dell, Supermicro or comparable systems.
• Ability to read deployment documentation and rack elevation diagrams.
• Ability to perform essential physical functions including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of ESD procedures and safe handling of sensitive equipment.

Role Summary

The Data Center Technician supports large-scale data center deployment and operational activities, including hardware installation, structured cabling, asset management, and infrastructure support. This hands-on role requires strong attention to detail and adherence to established safety, security, and operational procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform rack, stack, and cabling installations for servers, storage, networking, and GPU-based systems.
• Install rails, mount equipment, label assets, and maintain proper airflow and cable management.
• Connect and validate power, fiber, and copper network cabling.
• Support hardware moves, additions, and changes throughout the data center.
• Follow deployment runbooks, procedures, and engineering documentation.
• Conduct basic hardware validation, including LED and port checks and physical troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate asset inventory, labeling, and deployment documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering and network teams during deployments, migrations, and infrastructure projects.
• Follow established ESD, safety, and security procedures.
• Support the decommissioning and removal of end-of-life hardware.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands‑on data center experience, including rack and stack activities.
• Strong understanding of server and network rack layouts, structured cabling, including fiber and copper, and Power Distribution Units (PDUs).
• Experience installing enterprise server platforms such as Dell, Supermicro, or comparable systems.
• Ability to read and interpret rack elevation diagrams and deployment documentation.
• Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, including lifting and handling equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Knowledge of ESD procedures and safe handling practices for sensitive equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established technical procedures.
• Relevant education, training, certifications, or equivalent practical experience.
• Availability to work on‑site.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Publishing Pay Range: $38.00 - $40.00 hourly

This position is based in office and requires employee to work on‑site.
