Job summary

Lyte Fiber in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our fiber network infrastructure. You will lead complex network deployments, ensure security and reliability, and drive performance improvements as part of the Network Operations team.

Responsibilities include planning expansion, documenting configurations, and mentoring junior engineers. This is an on-site role with FTTH exposure and requires coordinating with vendors and carriers as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 8 years of equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in network engineering, design, and FTTH service provider environments.
• Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies (segment routing, BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, OSPF, RSVP, Pseudo-wires, VPLS, EVPN, IPv4/IPv6, CGNAT, Peering, VLANs, TCP/IP, VPNs).
• Experience with routing and switching equipment from Nokia, Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Calix.
• Proficiency in network security practices including firewalls, IDS/IPS, ACLs.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
• This job is on-site in Houston; FTTH deployment experience is a plus.
• On-call rotation ability.
