We are seeking a Senior Network Developer to join our network engineering team, collaborating with the infrastructure group. Reporting to the Manager of Network Engineering, this role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining the DigitalOcean network from the Internet edge to hypervisor connections. Our networks must be highly scalable, enable system agility, and provide stability for our extensive customer base. You will work with other infrastructure and engineering teams to ensure new products and features are supported by scalable network architectures that meet performance requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and engineering network-related tools and systems.
• Collaborating with software engineers to develop and maintain network automation, monitoring platforms, SDN solutions, and GPU networking.
• Contributing to open-source projects related to network and platform engineering.
• Ensuring code quality through guidance and reviews.
• Developing and maintaining network automation solutions.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with network engineering and vendors like Juniper, Cisco, or Arista.
• Proficiency in languages such as Go or Python.
• Expertise in Linux networking, VyOS, Open vSwitch, OpenFlow, or Faucet SDN Controller.
• Experience with CI/CD, containers, virtualization, web servers, and databases.
• Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
• Experience with automation frameworks (Salt preferred).
• Knowledge of version control tools like Git and multi-branch development.

Technologies:

• Languages: Python, Go, Bash.

Standards and Tools:

• IPFIX, OpenConfig, NETCONF.
