Job summary

AMAZON WEB SERVICES, INC. is seeking a Network Dev Engineer III in Seattle to drive strategy for large-scale network initiatives and implement network changes.

You will collaborate with automation teams to scale tooling and lead projects spanning sustaining engineering, deployment, scaling, and technology refresh. The role requires expertise in IP networking (BGP/OSPF/MPLS), Unix/Linux, and scripting (Python/Perl/Shell), with experience on Cisco IOS or Junos in large enterprise or cloud

Qualifications

• Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Networking, Engineering or related field; one year of related experience; or Bachelor's degree with five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience.
• Experience with major internet routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, RSVP/ISIS) in large enterprise environments; Cisco IOS or Junos; Unix/Linux; scripting (Python/Perl/Shell).

Responsibilities

• Define and drive technical strategy for large-scale network initiatives.
• Create and implement changes to the network.
• Collaborate with automation teams to define scalable tooling.
• Lead projects across sustaining engineering, deployment, scaling, and technology refresh.
• Diagnose, mitigate impact, and resolve large-scale networking events for AWS customers.
• Operate and troubleshoot routing, interconnectivity, platforms, and configurations; harness Unix and networking software tools.
• Drive innovation from Top of Rack to Network Border; align with Network/Infrastructure teams.
• Ensure fast roll-out of new designs and products; maintain standards across the toolset.
• Document deployments, recurring issues, and new standard operating procedures.
