Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Network Deploy Technician III for Global Network Delivery in Ashburn, VA. This role designs, plans, delivers and operates scalable network infrastructure across data centers, with emphasis on capacity management and reliability.

You will troubleshoot networking issues, configure new equipment, coordinate with stakeholders, support migrations, and contribute to automation for scaling networks. Travel within the region is required and a valid driver's license is needed.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
• One+ year of computer networking experience.
• Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment & troubleshooting methodologies.
• Industry standard certifications (BICSI, CompTIA, CCENT, Network+).
• Experience with tools related to network troubleshooting (VFLs, OTDR, power meters).
• Knowledge of major command-line protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and networking protocols (BGP, OSPF).

Responsibilities

• Managing work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
• Collaborating with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
• Troubleshooting networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
• Specifying power and cooling requirements and ensuring hardware racking/stacking completed for new equipment.
• Participating in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
• Scaling support of several data center locations and assisting with capacity management.
• Working closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers.
• Establishing and following best‑practice operational procedures.
• Assisting in the development of automation and scaling solutions for networks.
