Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Network Deploy Technician to join our infrastructure operations team in Frederick, MD.

The role focuses on scaling data center networks, supporting capacity management and collaborating with internal customers and vendors to drive smooth project delivery. You will work with networking engineers on deployment, troubleshooting, and implementing best practices to ensure reliable, scalable network services across AWS data centers.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of computer networking experience
• 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience with computer networking
• Experience working with Linux operating systems
• Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
• Ability to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while following safety guidelines
• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
• Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
• Industry standard certification (CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+), or experience in a relevant field
• Experience with network troubleshooting tools (telnet, tracert, iperf, packet capture tools)
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP

Responsibilities

• Managing work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
• Collaborating with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
• Troubleshooting networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
• Specifying Power and Cooling requirements and ensuring Hardware Racking/Stacking completed for new equipment
• Participating in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
• Travel within regional work area for duties as required
