Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an Associate Director, Network Contracting to guide provider network development, unit cost management and pricing modeling across markets. You will negotiate contracts and build strong relationships with Skilled Nursing Facilities and partners to ensure a broad, affordable network.

This remote role requires working EST or CST hours, up to 25% travel to OH/IN, and adherence to the Telecommuter Policy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a network management-related role handling complex network providers
• 2+ years of medical cost and affordability experience
• 2+ years of provider contracting and/or network management
• Experience using financial models to negotiate rates with providers
• Proven knowledge of Medicare and Managed Care Reimbursement
• Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation
• Ability to travel 25% to OH/IN
• Ability to work EST standard business hours

Responsibilities

• Balance financial and operational impact of contracts to providers, members, and customers
• Develop market level and site strategy, plans and priorities
• Apply network configuration and incentive-based payment models
• Understand products across Employer, Individual, Medicare and Retirement lines
• Evaluate current contract performance for remediation and cost savings
• Use financial reports to evaluate contract performance
• Understand contract language and legal implications of changes
• Assess competitor landscape including rates and provider networks
• Represent department in external meetings and drive deliverables
