Job summary

Venatôre, a mission-driven government contractor in Tampa, FL, seeks a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and secure complex enterprise networks across on-premises and multi-cloud environments. The role emphasizes SDN, Zero Trust, and network automation, with travel up to 10% for USCENTCOM mission support.

Qualified candidates will have 8+ years of experience, DoD-style clearance, and hands-on expertise with Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, and major security platforms.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of progressively responsible network engineering experience.
• Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance.
• Expert-level knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or comparable enterprise networking platforms.
• Hands-on experience with VMware NSX, Cisco ACI, Cisco Identity Services Engine, Palo Alto Networks, or equivalent platforms.
• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, VPN, and data center networks.
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, VPNs, QoS, IPv6, VXLAN, MPLS, and firewall policies.
• Onsite work at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL, and ability to travel up to 10% annually.

Responsibilities

• Architect secure network solutions using Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, and related technologies.
• Integrate Zero Trust principles and microsegmentation across on-premises and multi-cloud environments.
• Develop network architecture diagrams, schematics, and implementation documentation.
• Configure and optimize routing, switching, redundancy, performance, and failover.
• Implement and support BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VXLAN, and MPLS; manage VLANs and VPNs.
• Maintain network security controls, firewall policies, and identity-based access.
• Lead or collaborate on cross-functional technical initiatives across network, systems, cloud, and cybersecurity teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers; review work for quality.
