Job summary

CGS is seeking a Senior Lead Network Engineer II to join a team evaluating, enhancing, and maintaining a large-scale network infrastructure spanning wired, wireless, and software components. You will consult with government personnel, stakeholders, and vendors to design and implement the new setup, test systems, and ensure security and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, or related field.
• Strong documentation skills including JIRA, Wiki Pages and diagrams.
• CWNA or equivalent certification; BCNE or equivalent.
• Experience with RF site survey tools and Wireshark.
• Knowledge of VLANs, 802.1w, OSPF and VRRP; network security concepts.
• Linux/Windows server familiarity; VMware experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage NPS network infrastructure.
• Improve infrastructure monitoring and reporting with network management software.
• Develop and maintain network documentation for NPS.
• Review best practices; suggest architecture and operation improvements.
• Administer Cloudpath onboarding; monitor wireless health and patch updates.
• Assess infrastructure and make improvement recommendations.
• Define testing procedures for new infrastructure projects.
• Provide design guidance on network solutions for NPS projects.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer on best practices.
