Job summary

Tarrant County is seeking a Lead Network Engineer to design, install, and manage the county's network infrastructure across Access, Distribution, and Core layers. You will ensure fault tolerance, QoS, and secure WAN/LAN/VoIP systems while coordinating with partner agencies and Internet connectivity.

The role requires CNNA certification, a bachelor's degree in IT, 3+ years in Layer 2/3 networks, and CCNP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• Three (3) years' experience in Layer 2 or Layer 3 Network Infrastructure or equivalent.
• Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CNNA) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Access layer Ethernet switches for LANs.
• Manage Distribution and Core layer routers/switches connecting County buildings.
• Design and maintain communications network for large buildings using fiber, copper and wireless.
• Manage WAN connectivity including leased lines and microwave links.
• Design, implement and manage County WiFi networks (802.11x).
• Manage VoIP devices, voicemail, and related call center changes.

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology related field
