Job summary

Dona Ana County is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and optimize the county’s enterprise network infrastructure. You will lead architecture planning for LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, VOIP, and security systems, ensuring high availability and resilience.

Responsibilities include disaster recovery planning, capacity planning, vendor coordination, and project leadership across cross-functional IT teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/IT or related field.
• Four (4) years in enterprise IT infrastructure or network management.
• Cisco CCNA is required; CCNP, PCNSA, PCNSE, and CompTIA certs are preferred.
• Must pass NCIC background and driving record check.

Responsibilities

• Lead network architecture and capacity planning for enterprise LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, VOIP, and related systems.
• Coordinate with vendors and IT teams on infrastructure projects and deployments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance, security, and availability.
• Maintain network diagrams, configuration docs, and audit compliance.
