Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking an experienced Network Engineer within the Enterprise Technology - LAN Engineering team. The role centers on delivering LAN architecture and global deployment, focusing on Cisco SDA and SDN for campus, engineering, and manufacturing facilities.

You will publish HLD/LLD documentation, participate in certification, and provide Level 3/4 support. The job requires 10+ years of experience, Cisco LAN expertise, and travel to Dearborn as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent work experience required.
• 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Cisco Certifications – CCNP/CCIE preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of Cisco LAN infrastructure and Catalyst 9k switches.
• Strong knowledge of IP protocols (OSPF,BGP) and SD-Access.
• IOS-XE Software knowledge.
• SRE principles familiarity.
• Scripting (Python, Ansible) familiarity.
• Monitoring/Observability tools (Syslog, SNMP, Telemetry).
• Knowledge of Palo Alto products (Firewall, Prisma Access).
• Proficient in MS Office, Visio, Excel, SharePoint, Teams.
• Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
• Willingness to travel to Dearborn as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and publish Network Architecture and design docs (HLD/LLD/NRFU).
• Test, certify, and release Cisco hardware/firmware for global deployment.
• Provide Level 3/4 support and coordinate new router/switch installs.
• Work with SDA and SDA-related deployments for campus/manufacturing.
• Develop tests for network redundancy and up-time standards.
• Provide technical training to Network Planning & Operations teams.
• Develop tools to automate deployment, admin, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance network operability.
