Job summary

Heartland Business Systems is seeking a Technical Architect to develop, implement, and support network services for consulting clients while mentoring teammates. You will build customer-focused relationships to identify business challenges, develop specifications, and deliver optimal solutions.

This role requires strong leadership, collaboration with Practice Leads and Project Managers, and experience with Cisco/Aruba networking products, routing protocols, and data-center architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certifications or equivalent work experience.
• At least two professional level certifications.
• Experience designing and architecting network-based solutions.
• Experience installing and supporting Cisco or HP/Aruba network switching and routing products.
• IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS experience and best practices.
• Routing protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP; L2/L3 architecture and design; Multicast; QoS.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Practice Leads to create and maintain documents and procedures.
• Lead large projects with Project Managers to ensure on-time delivery and budget adherence.
• Provide leadership to engineers and ensure tasks are completed accurately and timely.
• Serve as Lead Engineer on multi-technology projects.
• Communicate project status and timelines to stakeholders daily.
• Foster collaboration between business units to deliver a world-class client experience.
• Educate sales teams on products and services to drive sales.
• Maintain professional demeanor in a team environment with regional and virtual practices.
• Grow skills per the Engineering skills matrix, including certifications and project experience.
• Meet annual billable hour goals as defined by HBS.
