Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, architecture, modernization, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments. This role will serve as the network subject matter expert, driving strategy, scalability, security, automation, and cloud networking initiatives that support business growth and digital transformation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
• Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN technologies, QoS.
• Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, IPSec, DMVPN, VPC, 802.1X, QoS

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise network standards and reference architectures.
• Design scalable, secure network solutions for enterprise and cloud environments.
• Lead modernization initiatives including: Zero Trust Architecture, SD-WAN, cloud-native networking, migration of legacy systems.
• Design and support hybrid cloud networking, including Azure hub-and-spoke architectures.
• Drive network automation, IaC, and policy-based networking.
• Introduce AIOps and telemetry-driven monitoring for reliability.
• Partner with Cybersecurity, Application Development, Infrastructure, Data, and Product teams.
• Provide technical leadership to managed service providers and network operations teams.
• Serve as Tier 3 escalation support for complex incidents and root-cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and runbooks.
• Manage vendor, carrier, and service-provider relationships.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide team leadership.
