Job summary

Opensity Solutions seeks a Sr. Network Engineer to design and implement robust, secure network architectures supporting enterprise operations. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure reliability, performance, and scalable infrastructure across LAN/WAN/WLAN/SD‑WAN environments.

The role emphasizes security, capacity planning, and vendor management, with a preference for Chicago area candidates, but open to qualified US applicants.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years in network engineering with design/implementation focus.
• 3+ years hands-on Palo Alto firewall experience.
• 5+ years with Layer 3 routing and switching.
• 5+ years Arista switching in enterprise environments.
• 1+ year Arista wireless solutions experience.
• 2+ years Azure networking and cloud connectivity exposure.
• Fortinet firewalls and security technologies familiarity.
• Meraki wireless networking exposure.
• Experience with MSP networks across multiple clients.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise network architectures (LAN/WAN/WLAN/SD-WAN).
• Lead network implementation and configuration of routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers.
• Collaborate with security to define access controls and IDS/IPS policies.
• Develop monitoring metrics with Tooling teams to identify bottlenecks and latency.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for project delivery and budgeting.
