Job summary

Targa Resources is seeking a Network Architect to join the Network Shared Services team in Houston, designing and implementing core network solutions across routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, and wireless. The role involves evaluating technologies, collaborating with SMEs, and advising on trends to improve network security and align with business needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years in networking with leading network design projects
• Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and deliver action items
• Effective communication with stakeholders and leadership on projects
• Experience with DMZ, load balancers, firewalls, and enterprise routing/Wi‑Fi design
• Experience with VXLAN leaf/spine data center architectures
• Understanding OT cybersecurity frameworks (NIST 800-82, Purdue Model) and OT protocols

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements from business units, InfoSec, and IT/OT infrastructure groups
• Lead evaluation of new technologies and vendors
• Develop new network designs/architectures with input from peers
• Deploy network solutions for LAN/WAN, firewall, load balancing, and wireless
• Create design docs and diagrams of network standards and processes
• Assist with budgeting docs and IT leadership presentations
• Serve as highest escalation for network infrastructure issues
• Other duties as assigned
