Job summary

Vertiv (ERS / HVM) is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) in Texas. The role involves performing high-voltage testing, coordinating protective relays, and leading field teams on critical power projects for data centers, utilities, and industrial sites.

The position requires 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience, NETA certification, and willingness to travel up to 75%. Competitive hourly pay up to $95 with OT, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Proficiency with test equipment and ability to read one-line and P&IDs.
• Willingness to travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author detailed engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field; serve as technical lead on multi-discipline teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
