Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) in Texas to perform acceptance, commissioning and maintenance testing on high-voltage power systems up to 500kV. The role offers substantial travel, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for professional growth.

Applicants should hold NETA III/IV certification, have 7+ years of HV testing experience, and familiarity with MTS/ATS standards. Proficiency with Doble, Megger, Omicron and other equipment is essential.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III/IV certification current and in good standing
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards
• Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF
• Strong understanding of protective relay schemes and coordination
• Ability to read and interpret one-line/three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs
• Valid driver’s license with clean record
• Willingness to travel regionally (up to 75%)

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based)
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers and switchgear
• Interpret and analyze test results; author engineering reports with findings
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA safety
