Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing with NETA III/IV certification to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on power systems up to 500 kV. You will lead testing activities, analyze results, and prepare detailed reports for client projects across regional and national scopes.

The role requires 7+ years of field experience, strong relay coordination knowledge, and travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.
• Strong understanding of protective relay schemes and coordination.
• Ability to read one-line/three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and breakers.
• Interpret test results and write comprehensive engineering reports with findings.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians and serve as technical lead on projects.
