Job summary

Vertiv in Texas is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on power systems up to 500 kV. Travel up to 75% for regional and national projects, with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Must have NETA Level III or IV certification and current good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Proficiency with protective relay schemes and coordination.
• Ability to read one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians and serve as technical lead on multi-discipline projects.
