Job summary

The MAXIS Group in Tempe, AZ seeks a Senior .NET Technical Lead to oversee a small dev team (2-4) and drive design, development and delivery of services and APIs using .NET Core, C#, and Angular. This contract-to-hire role requires US citizenship or GC holder status and offers a hybrid work pattern with 2-3 days in the office.

You'll mentor engineers, implement testing, CI/CD, and cloud deployment, apply RESTful principles, and contribute to architecture decisions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of experience with C#, .NET Core, and Angular (latest versions).
• Experience deploying software solutions using the Microsoft .NET framework.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and integration.
• Experience with SQL Server or other relational databases.
• Familiarity with Entity Framework, LINQ, and dependency injection.
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript, and responsive design principles.
• Ability to contribute to technical specifications and design documentation for the team.
• Ability to analyze software source code to validate requirements while supporting improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leadership: Oversee one dev team (2-4 devs) under the guidance of an Architect
• Design, develop, and maintain software applications, services, and APIs
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in accordance with coding standards
• Implement new features and enhance existing functionality
• Participate in technical design and architecture discussions
• Ensure solutions are scalable, performant, and maintainable
• Follow established design patterns and development best practices
• Create unit, integration, and automated tests

QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Minimum 8+ years of experience working with C#, .NET Core, and Angular (latest versions).
• Experience in deploying software solutions utilizing primarily the Microsoft .NET framework.
• Backend Technologies: .Net, C#, ASP.Net Web API, SQL Server
• Frontend Technologies: Angular, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, CSS
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and integration.
• Experience with SQL Server or other relational databases.
• Familiarity with Entity Framework, LINQ, and dependency injection.
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript, and responsive design principles.
• Ability to contribute to technical specifications and technical design documentation for the software development team.
• Ability to effectively analyze software source code to validate the application for business and technical requirements while supporting the improvement of the application.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team addressing technical issues and problems.
• Proven experience in the use of Microsoft Azure DevOps (or Atlassian Jira).
• Must demonstrate ability to work independently and utilize critical thinking skills as required.
• Good understanding of Agile methodology including experience with Scrum methods and processes.
• Required:

• Daily hands-on use of AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent) on production code — not pilots or side projects
• Judgment on where AI-assisted development works and where it doesn't, particularly on large legacy .NET codebases
• Experience defining or enforcing team standards for reviewing and merging AI-generated code

• Preferred:

• Has measurably improved team throughput or quality using AI tooling and can speak to what they tracked
• Comfortable coaching 2-4 developers on AI-assisted workflows and presenting results to peer leads
