Job summary

Emergent Software is seeking a Senior Software Architect to design, implement, and maintain enterprise-scale applications on the Microsoft stack. You will lead architectural efforts for core platform services, microservices, and shared libraries while actively contributing to development.

The role combines strategic planning with hands-on delivery, guiding release planning, governance, and engineering practices to improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience with C# and .NET.
• Strong experience with modern .NET technologies including ASP.NET Core.
• Experience building and supporting enterprise-scale production applications.
• Strong SQL Server and Azure experience.
• Experience in microservices architectures.
• Experience supporting shared frameworks or platforms used by several downstream apps.
• Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable development.
• Experience evaluating risk, release planning, and change management.
• Experience with source control, CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to lead technically while remaining hands-on.
• Willingness to work onsite long-term.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications, microservices, and shared platform components.
• Provide architectural leadership for core platform apps and shared NuGet packages.
• Evaluate impact of platform changes across dependent apps and services.
• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to long-term platform strategy.
• Support release planning, change management, and deployment governance.
• Build scalable, reliable software supporting critical operations.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, product, and business stakeholders.
• Write clean, well-documented code focused on performance and maintainability.
• Participate in architecture and code reviews and technical planning.
• Contribute to CI/CD improvements and deployment automation.
• Help strengthen backlog refinement and PBI creation.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across enterprise systems.
• Mentor engineers and guide platform architecture and development practices.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
