Truist in Charlotte seeks a Software Engineer to design, develop, test and maintain complex integration services for Wealth Brokerage and Trust, focusing on reliable data movement and transaction orchestration across applications and platforms. The engineer combines strong .NET/C#, SQL Server and Azure engineering with practical integration expertise across REST APIs, messaging, batch processing and managed file transfer.

Python may be used for data transformation and tooling.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field with 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and training.
Preferred experience in Wealth, Brokerage, Trust, banking or highly regulated industry.
Experience integrating third-party platforms using APIs, messaging, SFTP, batch files or vendor interfaces.
Azure API Management, Functions, App Service, Service Bus, Key Vault or equivalent enterprise capabilities.

Responsibilities

Design and develop secure REST APIs, integration services, background processes and reusable components using .NET and C#.
Create clear interface contracts, canonical data structures, validation rules, error models and versioning approaches.
Implement data integration using SQL Server, Azure services, messaging, batch processes and SFTP or managed file transfer.
Use Python for data transformation, reconciliation, automation, test utilities or operational tooling where appropriate.
Apply authentication, authorization, encryption, secrets management and least-privilege principles to integration designs.
Build robust error handling, retry, dead-letter, replay and reconciliation capabilities for visibility and recoverability.
Develop automated tests including unit, integration and contract tests; support test-data and service-virtualization.
Instrument integrations with logging, metrics, tracing and dashboards; define runbooks and support procedures.
Collaborate with data owners and consumers to establish mappings, lineage and authoritative-source expectations.
Analyze and tune API, database, messaging and batch performance under throughput and latency constraints.
Partner with architecture and platform teams on cloud migration and reusable integration standards.
Troubleshoot complex defects and production incidents; perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Participate in SDLC activities and mentor junior engineers; contribute reusable patterns and libraries.
