Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Software Systems Engineer (.Net Developer) for a remote role within the VA department. The position requires five or more years in .Net development, strong C#, MVC, REST APIs, and cloud experience (Azure/AWS).

You will work in a full-time, US-based remote setting with a Public Trust security clearance emphasis. Essential duties include full-stack development, testing, CI/CD, Agile practices, and collaboration with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience developing with .Net technologies.
• Proficient in backend development using MVC and .Net Core.
• Strong knowledge of OOP and design patterns.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and SQL Server.
• Familiar with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and DevOps.
• Experience with Git and TFVC/version control.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools.
• Unit testing with NUnit/xUnit/MSTest.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical planning, requirements definition, test planning and execution, and software systems integration.
• Develop .Net back-end applications using C#, unit tests, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor junior developers.
• Document software designs with diagrams and descriptions.
• Use IDEs such as Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and Git.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and promote best practices.
• Provide production support and continuous improvement.
