Job summary

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Information Systems is seeking a Senior Application Developer to design, develop, and enhance software across client-server, web, cloud, and mobile platforms. You will work with .NET/ASP/Visual C# to deliver high-quality IT services and reporting capabilities.

You will troubleshoot production issues, mentor a team, and ensure secure, standards-driven development while coordinating with stakeholders and partner agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years experience in developing enterprise apps with Microsoft technologies.
• Experience in conveying technical concepts for a specialty.
• Proven ability to document complex technical information.
• Experience with C#, ASP.NET.
• Experience with databases and front-end/back-end languages (SQL).
• Experience with Visual Studio 2010+ and .NET Framework 2.0-4.6.2.
• Strong ETL experience in Data Warehouse/BI platforms.
• Experience with ADO.NET.
• Experience with WCF and SOA.
• Experience with JIRA/Bugzilla/HP ALM tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deliver, and enhance client-server/web/cloud/mobile applications.
• Mentor and advise a team of developers.
• Implement programming standards for secure, defect-free apps.
• Interact with government clients to meet requirements.
• Work with QA to ensure secure, high-quality apps.
• Document processes, user guides, and diagrams.
• Plan and evaluate new tools and technologies.
• Troubleshoot and optimize performance across systems.
• Deliver integration with statewide systems where needed.
• Coordinate activities of application developers.
• Identify best practices and standards for product use.
• Manage large, complex implementations.
