Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Compliance & Audit Readiness professional to help BU achieve and maintain NERC audit readiness by aligning with standards and partnering with BU compliance teams. You will serve as a subject-matter expert on NERC Standards and act as the single point of contact for ENRA compliance services on an assigned standard basis.

You will execute established compliance processes, collaborate with SMEs to develop mitigation plans, and support standard implementation,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, communications, computer science, business, or related field; or Associate's degree in one of the aforementioned fields and two years of relevant work experience.
• Five (5) years of experience in electric utility or similarly regulated industry.

Responsibilities

• Identify root cause and establish facts of incidents; assess impact and risk; draft language for regulator review.
• Develop and track mitigation activities with SMEs; draft regulator language and milestones; monitor progress and evidence of completion.
• Create and execute implementation plans for new or revised standards to ensure readiness before effective date.
• Support BU compliance teams to review or develop compliance narratives (RSAW).
• Assess BU processes against compliance requirements; identify failures and propose improvements; deploy and maintain level two controls as needed.
• Assist with evidence pull sheets; define evidence of compliance; respond to RFIs and collect SME inputs.
