Job summary

American Electric Power seeks an experienced NERC Compliance professional to ensure audit readiness and strengthen the organization’s NERC program. You will serve as the single point of contact for ENRA compliance services and collaborate with business units to implement standards across functions.

You will train teams, draft regulator language, and drive improvements in the NERC program while coordinating with leadership to manage risk and maintain ongoing compliance across registrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, communications, computer science, business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Eight+ years in electric utility or similarly regulated industry with progressive responsibility.
• Experience in NERC compliance or similar regulatory compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• SME capability for all NERC Audit Readiness Services; train others.
• Identify root causes, assess impact and risk; draft regulator language.
• Develop and track mitigation milestones; review evidence of completion.
• Work with leadership to implement standards; review narratives of compliance.
• Support evidence pull sheets; define evidence of compliance.
• Collect SME responses to regulator RFIs.
