Mabbett & Associates, Inc. is seeking a full-time NEPA Practitioner/Specialist to join our Washington, DC-area team. You will lead NEPA planning, document review, and tracking, coordinating with multi-disciplinary project teams and stakeholders.

The position requires 5+ years of NEPA experience, strong writing and organizational skills, and the ability to travel occasionally across the U.S. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science, planning, natural resources, biology, or related field.
• 5 years of direct professional NEPA experience reviewing CATEX, RECs, EAs, and EISs.
• Ability to collect and analyze project information and draft clear NEPA documentation.
• Familiarity with NEPA regulations and federal environmental planning processes.
• Knowledge of land use, permitting, and environmental protection laws.
• Strong writing, communication, and coordination skills.
• Experience with project tracking, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate NEPA data collection and maintain project trackers.
• Develop and coordinate NEPA documents such as RECs, CATEX, EAs, and EISs.
• Review documents for completeness and alignment with procedures.
• Maintain NEPA project trackers, schedules, and status reports.
• Prepare NEPA briefings, guidance, and training materials.
• Support NEPA stakeholder outreach and meeting logistics.
• Assess environmental factors like land use, emissions, waste, cultural resources.
• Track NEPA mitigation and follow-up activities.
