Job summary

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, seeks an Environmental Scientist with seven to ten years of NEPA experience to join our Hampton Roads team in Virginia. You will serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies and clients, focusing on quality control, document preparation, and NEPA and permit applications.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate client projects, and contribute to 401/404, VWP, and HUD-related efforts as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources Management, or related field. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
• Experience preparing and managing NEPA documents for a wide range of federal agencies including agency scoping and coordination, impacts analysis, and public involvement. Virginia experience is a must.
• Experience preparing and managing NEPA documents for VDOT LAP projects and/or HUD is preferred.
• Working knowledge of CWA, ESA, NHPA, CZM Act, CBPA, and other laws relevant to NEPA and impact assessment.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of NEPA documents including EAs, CEs, and CEs, with emphasis on LAP and HUD documents.
• Mentoring and collaboration with junior staff to produce final documents.
• Client coordination and project oversight as needed.
• Additional tasks may include permit application preparation for 401/404 and other authorizations.
