Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, is seeking a full-time Environmental Compliance Manager to lead the Hampton Roads Environmental Compliance Department, focusing on growth, staff development, and expanding the project portfolio in residential, commercial, utility, and transportation developments.

The role oversees department operations, ensures NPDES/VPDES stormwater compliance, develops SWPPP, coordinates with agencies, manages budgets and proposals, and mentors staff while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in NPDES/VPDES compliance inspections and reporting.
• Knowledge of Virginia’s General VPDES Stormwater Management Program and Construction General Permit requirements.
• Knowledge of Virginia’s Water Protection (VWP) Permit and Virginia State Water Control Law.
• Strong project management and multitasking skills.
• Proven business development and networking ability.
• Leadership and team management experience.
• Willingness to travel regionally and occasionally out of state, including weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage department operations.
• Conduct stormwater compliance inspections and reporting (VPDES/NPDES).
• Develop SWPPP and perform audits.
• Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies on wetlands, erosion, and stormwater.
• Manage project scheduling, budgeting, and billing.
• Prepare proposals including scope, fees, and RFP responses.
• Provide internal training, mentoring, and SOP implementation.
• Collaborate with other WSSI and Davey departments as needed.
