Job summary

MISTRAS Group is seeking an experienced Level III NDT professional to oversee FPI (PT) and chemical etch processes. You will interpret codes, standards, and customer requirements and develop, review, and maintain procedures, work instructions, and process controls for these operations.

You will qualify, train, examine, and certify Level I and II personnel under NAS 410 or equivalent, supervise daily process controls, and lead audits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree in NDT, materials science, engineering, or related technical field preferred.
• Current NAS 410 (or equivalent ASNT) Level III certification in Penetrant Testing (PT/FPI).
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on NDT experience in FPI/PT, with aerospace/defense experience preferred; 2–3 years in a Level II or supervisory capacity.
• Documented experience with chemical etch processes and controls (solution chemistry, etch rates, tank maintenance).
• Strong working knowledge of NAS 410, ASTM E1417, AS9100, NADCAP requirements for NDT and chemical processing.

Responsibilities

• Interpret NAS 410 and customer requirements; oversee FPI/PT and chemical etch processes.
• Qualify, train, examine, and certify Level I/II personnel per NAS 410 or company practice.
• Oversee daily process controls, solution analysis, etch rate verification, calibration, and system checks.
• Lead NADCAP, customer, AS9100, and internal audits; address findings and drive corrective actions.
• Mentor inspectors; provide guidance on indications, technique selection, and process optimization.
