Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Sr. NDE Technical Support Specialist in North Carolina to provide oversight of NDE procedures, mentor NDE staff, and ensure a quality product across certifications, training, and testing.

You will interact with regulators, auditors, engineers, and code committees while performing field oversight and vendor reviews. Required experience includes nuclear NDE Level III qualifications and at least an associate degree or equivalent with substantial related work.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree is required; alternative is high school with extensive related experience.
• Two-year technical degree in an inspection field is acceptable.
• High School / GED with substantial related experience is considered.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred for advanced standing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and mentor NDE Technical Support Specialists and review NDE processes for quality.
• Improve efficiency via internal assessments and external benchmarking.
• Organize workload to support time-critical evolutions for the Fleet.
• Provide problem resolution and oversight for NDE training and inspections.
• Interface with NOS, NRC, QC/NDE inspectors, auditors, engineers, and code committees.
• Maintain Level III certifications and oversee field inspections and NDE staff.

Education

Associate degree

Two-year technical degree in related inspection field

High School / GED with 8 years related experience
