Job summary
Duke Energy is seeking a Sr. NDE Technical Support Specialist with nuclear experience to oversee NDE procedures, provide training, and ensure QA/QC compliance across field inspections. The role requires Level III expertise and substantial travel to nuclear sites.
The incumbent will mentor junior staff, review NDE records, and develop implementation documents in line with ASME, ASTM, ANSI, and other codes. Travel and on-site oversight are essential.
Qualifications
- Two-year technical degree in related inspection field and 6 years nuclear experience.
- In lieu of a technical degree, 8 years nuclear experience.
- Associates Degree is required as a basic qualification.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Establishing and approving NDE techniques and procedures, mentoring and assisting NDE Technical Support Specialists, interpreting codes, standards, and specifications.
- Oversight of NDE Technical Support Specialists in duties, including QA records, certifications, training, testing and certification of NDE Examiners.
- Develop and maintain NDE Implementation Level documents per policy and code standards.
- Oversight of NDE operations, training, and certification of Duke Nuclear QA/QC/NDE Technicians.
