Edgewater Technical Associates, LLC is seeking a Senior NCS Engineer for the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant Deactivation and Remediation project in Paducah, KY. The role involves leading NCS evaluations, determinations, reports, and CI documentation with an emphasis on regulatory compliance and safety.

Qualified candidates will have a BS in a related field, 7+ years of experience, and a DOE L clearance or ability to obtain one.

Expert understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations
Expert knowledge of applicable codes and standards and project procedures
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding of multiple engineering disciplines
Must possess a DOE “L” clearance or the ability to obtain one

Responsibilities

Prepares NCS Evaluations (NCSEs), NCS Determinations (NCSDs), NCS Reports (NCSRs) and related calculations and procedures
Performs peer review of NCS documents
Development of Criticality Incredibility documents and CI preparation experience desired
Uses SCALE for NCS document development
Leads project-engineering tasks, interfaces with teams to determine NCS requirements
Ensures compliance with DOE regulations and standards
Serves as SME and provides technical ownership for NCS projects
Maintains safety knowledge and participates in safety work groups
Performs feasibility studies and evaluates potential technologies
Mentors less experienced staff
