Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineer for the AIKEN, SC office at the Savannah River Site. The role provides engineering support for DOE facilities, developing or modifying complex NCS analyses, CSEs, and related documentation.

The candidate will lead NCS evaluations, mentor junior analysts, and participate in training, audits, and emergency response planning. A Bachelor's in nuclear/engineering/science and 4–5 years NCS experience or equivalent is required; US citizenship and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4–5 years NCS experience or 5 years equivalent in place of a B.S.
• US citizen with ability to obtain DOE Q clearance
• Experience supporting DOE facilities and criticality safety program development

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to operating organizations on NCS evaluations
• Lead and participate in NCS evaluations, reviews, and audits
• Mentor less experienced NCS Analysts and Analysts In-Training
• Develop and review NCS documentation such as CSEs and DACs
• Support NCS training, emergency response, and programmatic policy updates
