Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 9+ years as machinist/CNC programmer; welding experience desirable.
• Experience with CAM software for generating and optimizing multi-axis toolpaths.
• Able to read complex prints and translate tolerance into programming.
• Familiarity with CMM in-process inspection feedback loops.

Responsibilities

• Work under SRF Engineering to develop skills to operate e-beam welding cell independently.
• Program development & CAD/CAM translation - Converts drawings into CNC/NC code for electron-beam welding cell.
• Tooling and fixture planning - Determines fixtures and workholding setups for safe, efficient runs.
• Vacuum system operation - Manages chamber pump-down cycles, monitors vacuum levels, troubleshoots leaks.
• Weld setup, fixturing - Positions workpieces, aligns tolerances, configures beam parameters for each job.
• Prototype & first-article verification - Supports design/fab strategy for prototypes and first articles.
• Beam programming & process control - Adjusts beam paths, performs test welds and calibrations.
