NATURAL GAS FUEL SYSTEMS LLC in Roanoke, TX is seeking a Fabrication Programmer to lead programming and optimization of sheet metal fabrication, including laser cutting, CNC press brakes, and robotic welding support. The role requires hands-on SigmaNEST expertise and experience with Amada/Trumpf systems.
You will troubleshoot process issues, improve OEE and cycle times, collaborate with engineering, and help design weld fixtures for KUKA robots.
The Fabrication Programmer is responsible for programming, optimizing, and supporting sheet metal fabrication processes including laser cutting, CNC press brake operations, and robotic welding support . This role requires strong hands‑on experience in SigmaNEST programming , laser cutting machines (Amada/Trumpf), and press brake systems (SafanDarley/Trumpf), along with exposure to welding fixture design and robotic welding processes.
Key Responsibilities Laser Cutting & Nesting Develop and optimize programs using SigmaNEST Create efficient nests to maximize material utilization and reduce scrap Program and support Amada and Trumpf laser cutting machines Troubleshoot cut quality and process issues Drive improvements in OEE, cycle time, and material utilization through optimized programming and process enhancements Press Brake Programming Program and support: SafanDarleypress brakes Trumpf press brakes Determine bend allowances, K-factor, and tooling selection Optimize bend sequences for accuracy and efficiency Support shop floor with setup and technical issues Robotic Welding Support Assist in design and development of weld fixtures Support KUKA robotic welding operations Improve welding processes including sequencing and distortion control Ensure fixturerepeatability and production efficiency Process Improvement Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturability Drive improvements in: Cycle time Material utilization Product quality Maintain accurate documentation of programs and setups
Qualifications Required 3+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication programming Strong experience with SigmaNEST Knowledge of: Laser cutting (Amada or Trumpf) CNC press brake programming Understanding of: Bend deductions, K-factor, and forming processes Ability to read engineering drawings and CAD models Preferred Experience with SafanDarleyE-Brake and Trumpf press brakes Exposure to KUKA robotic welding systems Experience in weld fixture design Manufacturing engineering or process improvement background Key Skills Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability Hands‑on manufacturing experience Attention to detail and process accuracy Good communication and cross‑functional collaboration Knowledge of OEE tracking, cost reduction strategies, and continuous improvement (Lean Manufacturing)
