Job summary

Jefferson Lab in Newport News, Virginia is seeking a skilled technician to provide mechanical and electrical support for Hall A experiments. You will fabricate, assemble, mount, test detectors and cryogenic systems, and help maintain beamline infrastructure under safety policies.

With 5+ years of experience and a HS diploma, you will interpret drawings, operate cranes, and collaborate with a technical team to keep experiments running smoothly, performing preventive maintenance and on-call

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical systems support for large experimental facilities.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical/support on installation of detectors, magnets, power supplies and infrastructure hardware.
• Fabricate, assemble, install and test Hall A components.
• Maintain and document Hall systems; perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
