Job summary

The US Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District, seeks an engineer to provide technical support for maintenance of navigation locks, plan budgets, and direct the District’s channel surveys and dive teams. You will prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for major repairs to navigation structures, and lead engineers, technicians, and specialists to ensure project success.

You will coordinate with the Regional Rivers Repair Fleet, supervise staff, and oversee on-site maintenance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited) or equivalent.
• Experience demonstrating thorough knowledge of physical and mathematical engineering sciences and their applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for preventive and major maintenance of navigation locks' electrical, mechanical, and structural features.
• Prepare and manage budgets for repair fleet activities and support budget estimates for major maintenance.
• Direct the Channel Surveys Team and the District diving team as the District Navigation Business Line Manager.
• Prepare technical plans, specifications, and cost estimates for major repairs and improvements to navigation structures.
• Plan, assign, and direct the work of engineers, technicians, and specialists.
