Job summary

US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking a Master, Derrickboat to operate and maintain derrick boats and floating cranes for major maintenance and repair of locks, dams, and navigation channels in the Davidson/Nashville area. You will supervise crew, coordinate crane operations, and ensure safety practices aboard vessels and equipment.

The role requires extensive crane operation experience, ability to create lift plans, and adherence to DoD DHA recruitment guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform Master Derrickboat tasks including operating cranes or floating cranes for maintenance and repair of navigation structures.
  • Experience inspecting cranes and supporting critical lift plans and activity hazard analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and coordinates crew for major maintenance of navigation structures.
  • Operates derrick boats and floating cranes up to 250 tons for marine construction and channel repair.
  • Directs hoisting and swinging operations; controls boom movement and hoist line.
  • Operates clamshell buckets, grapples, and dredged material handling equipment.
  • Oversees vessel/machine repairs including cables, sheaves, buckets, spuds, and related gear.
